President Joe Biden has made tackling climate change a top priority. In his first two terms in office, Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement, froze state drilling and fracking permits for 60 days, and canceled the Keystone XL pipeline permit.
Anthony Watts, Senior Fellow on Environment and Climate at the Heartland Institute, says Biden’s environmental policy focuses on more government regulation, which he believes will lead not to less carbon emissions or pollution, but to a number of other consequences, including increases in energy prices and dependence on other countries for energy.
