The advert selling the Dr. Chris Jones operating for Arkansas Governor goes to blow your thoughts
Jones’ campaign website has this short and impressive bio.
Dr. Chris Jones grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The son of two ministers, Chris grew up with a strong faith. For Chris, his beliefs never collided with his love of science – in fact, it only made it stronger. He attended Morehouse College on a NASA scholarship in physics and mathematics, then graduated from MIT, became a nuclear engineer, and did a PhD. in urban planning. After his ordination, Chris returned to Arkansas and directed the Arkansas Regional Innovation Center.
Take a look at his ad, which I’ve seen more than 10 times since I first posted it on Twitter, where it quickly garners views and campaign contributions.
His use of time as a metaphor linking his ancestors to the here and now, the pastoral stole in his date-tipped hands, the image of him lovingly plaiting his daughter’s hair, and the chaos of the 6th Vision uprising for the Improving Arkansan’s Economic Future are all woven together in one seamless, high-performing rollout.

My family has lived in this state for 7 generations. If one thing is clear, Arkansas deserves better than division and discord.

The state of the race in Arkansas is fluid at the moment – incumbent Republican governor Asa Hutchinson is prevented from seeking a third term due to term restrictions. The Republican in the running, approved by Donald Trump and already one considerably Campaign war chest, is serial liar Sarah Huckabee Sanders, whose name was trending on Twitter yesterday and still is today.

It is impossible to imagine a nation on earth or a state in America where a sane voter would vote Sarah Huckabee Sanders over the man in the video below
What an absolutely breathtaking entry into a political race, I mean * wow *
This video is a must, not just for Arkansans https://t.co/zVVuovsGsf

Political watchers such as syndicated columnist Steve Brawner openly point out that Jones is Black, suggesting that because of that fact, he faces a huge barrier.
The state has never elected an African American to any state office, Senate, or House of Representatives. Out of 135 current lawmakers, 15 are African American. Seven represent Little Rock or the central Arkansas area and two represent Pine Bluff.
Racial attitudes are impossible to quantify, but we can write about results. If someone thinks race doesn’t matter anymore, here are some numbers. In all of American history, only two African Americans have been elected governor by any state. Two more were appointed, one of which served only briefly in Louisiana in the 1870s. There were only 11 African American Senators.
I don’t disagree. Being black in America is always an obstacle, and yes – race matters. However, I didn’t think I was going to see a black POTUS, or a vice president or a black senator elected from Georgia. We cannot give up the fight until we have entered the fight at all.
That’s what Jones has to say on Father’s Day.
Let us do this!
