It is true that Trump Admin politicized the Nat’l Climate Assessment

But that’s by design
Clinton, Bush & Obama too

The NCA is headed by political representatives from the White House

Political interference is a feature, not a bug

The 4th assessment (Obama) was also heavily politicized
It has abused RCP8.5 throughout and advertised the most extreme scenarios

Somehow, the work funded by Bloomberg / Steyer played a major role in the report written by scientists with undeclared COIs

The NYT implies the politicization of the NCA by Ds & Academics is okay:
“Trying to politicize or disapprove of climate science is one thing when the warnings come from Democrats or academics.”

We can expect the Biden administrator to politicize the NCA as well as this is built into their structure …

Politicized climate science is fine if Ds is not a recipe for scientific integrity in climate science advice

Everyone wants their people to be in charge, but that’s not how scientific advice should work

Climate change is real and serious, so we need advice with integrity

Learn how to set the national climate rating for Ds and Rs

The importance of climate change does not mean that scientific integrity is optional, but that it is necessary
