Pictures present the implications of the deadly assaults on Kabul Airport
Two explosions outside Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, left a site of slaughter and destruction on Thursday that killed at least 13 US soldiers and an unknown number of Afghan civilians.
The attacks were believed to have been carried out by suicide bombers and armed men from ISIS, US officials said, adding that they were still working on “calculating the total loss”. The attacks only added to the chaos, panic and fear at the airport; Many Afghan families have been fighting since the Taliban came to power from Afghanistan. Pictures showed rescue workers and civilians rushing to help those injured by the explosions and gunfire.
