GLOBAL CLIMATE TRIKE

ON SEPTEMBER 24TH WE WILL DEMAND AVERAGE CLIMATE JUSTICE! JOIN US!

#UPROOTTHESYSTEM

The climate crisis does not exist in a vacuum. Other socio-economic crises such as racism, sexism, ableism, class inequality and more exacerbate the climate crisis and vice versa. It is not just a single issue, our various struggles and liberations are linked and interconnected. We are united in our struggle for climate justice, but we must also recognize that we do not have the same problems; we also do not experience them to the same extent.

The time to join the masses and follow the example of environmentalists and workers is long overdue. For the historical injustices of the richest elites, reparations must be paid to MAPA, drastic emissions cuts in the global north, vaccine capital, debt relief and climate finance are just the beginning. Together we fight for a just future where no one is left behind. The historic victories of collective action have demonstrated the need for youth to be united in the multisectoral, intergenerational struggle for a better future for all; a future in which people and the planet have priority.

The referenced Google Drive document is even funnier;

We are in the midst of a climate crisis, massive species extinction, a global health pandemic, socio-economic inequality crises and much more. The current system actively seeks to highlight the voices of the privileged through a racist and white savior narrative depicting people from the Global South as underdeveloped, poor and voiceless. Industrialized countries of the global north have been doing this for centuries through colonialism, imperialism, the perpetuation of systemic injustices and their fixation on eternal growth. However, people from the Global South or the hardest hit areas are not underdeveloped, poor or voiceless, but rather grapple with the consequences of colonization and neocolonization while actively silencing them. You are strong, fearless, and aware of how You have been fighting and fighting the root cause of these crises for centuries, these are the systems of oppression and injustice created by the richest of the global north.

We must unite, follow the example of defenders and workers, reinforce the voices of MAPA and demand more ambitious action from the representatives of the Global North. Together we will fight for a just future where no one will be left behind because our liberations are linked. The historic victories of collective action have demonstrated the need for youth to be united in the multisectoral, intergenerational struggle for a better future for all; a future in which people and the planet take precedence over profit.

One thing that interests me is that I regularly get letters from people who seem to live mostly in the global south, from grieving widows who declare that they have locked away millions of dollars of inheritance, they just need help from an honest person in another country to unlock it. Sometimes they even offer some of the money to the kind person who agrees to help them.

If the people of the global south need more money to adapt to climate change, why don’t the leaders of the global south just ask the grieving widows? to come forward so their cases can be investigated so that all of the money in their frozen bank accounts can be used?

Greta could lead the indictment to help all of the widows and other unfortunate people who text me all the time access their frozen accounts so they can invest their money in climate resilience projects.
