Novak Djokovic faces his sixth French Open final after giving 13-time champion Rafael Nadal his first semi-final defeat in Paris on Friday afternoon. The Serb, who has won the title before, is the favorite as he meets 22-year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas.
It will be a big challenge for Tsitsipas to beat Djokovic, who is currently number 1 in the world. But if Tsitsipas can beat the 33-year-old, he’ll have a big payday ahead of him.
The winner of Sunday’s game, scheduled at 9 a.m. ET, will receive $ 1.7 million. The runner-up, meanwhile, takes home just over $ 900,000.
Should Djokovic win, this would bring his career prize winnings to a mammoth of $ 149.7 million, according to the ATP Tour – the highest value in tennis history.
If Tsitsipas Dkojovic misses a French Open loss, his career winnings will be $ 15.8 million.
