Gunman raided the Nationwide Guard caravan and introduced COVID-19 vaccines to Texas
Very little was reported about this incident, but every detail is reminiscent of the QAnon phenomenon. To say that Harris is “mentally disturbed” can be an honest assessment of his facilities at this point. But Harris had a driver’s license, guns and ammunition, and the perverse conspiracy theory that a caravan of National Guards traded a woman and a child. They didn’t even transport other people.
QAnon may just be a Trump-bordering cult, but it has spread like a plague. Leaning on classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories – the world of powerful pedophiles with so much control over the world they can do almost anything – may have caused the group to lose some believers who are unable to suppress their senses Reality, but it continues to hold strong across the country. The Tea Party, and then Trump’s rise, resulted in the group gaining acolytes like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene who have real political power.
QAnon’s delusion, which can easily be passed off as a disturbed state of mind, is apparently shared by millions of other people. Even as Trump and Q’s lies were exposed last November, December and January, QAnon believers continue to twist and wrestle the most tortured logic in hopes of proving that they were not simply right but were not betrayed by the hucksters who continue to steal their money and democratic vote. As with all major conspiracy theories, QAnon has a touch of eschatology. And any theory that believes there will be an endgame where all perceived debts are paid and all judges inevitably hit, inevitably turns into authoritarianism.
Harris is now charged, including “serious assault with a deadly weapon, illegally carrying a weapon, impersonating an officer, unlawful restraint of 11 National Guard soldiers and meddling with the Texas Armed Forces”.
