Fundamental Turkey in reference to salmonella outbreak
April 13, 2021 – Ground turkey is the likely cause of a salmonella outbreak that affects 28 people in 12 states, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Two people were hospitalized, but no deaths were reported.
On April 10, federal officials issued a public health warning for nearly 212,000 pounds of raw ground turkey products manufactured by Plainville Brands, LLC. These products were sold under the brand names “Nature’s Promise”, “Wegman” and “Plainville Farms” and are within the US Department of the United States with the dates 1/1 / 21-1 / 10/21 and company number “P244” marked certification mark of agriculture.
While the products are no longer commercially available, they could still be in people’s freezers, according to the CDC. It warned against eating, serving, or selling the affected products.
