CDC publishes new pointers for vaccinated Individuals
Big news today was little news: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) eventually released initial guidelines exempting vaccinated Americans from some COVID-19 restrictions. The catch? For this first round, the only restrictions relaxed are that vaccinated Americans should feel free to interact with other vaccinated Americans, with reasonable caution, indoors, without a mask and without social distancing. Similarly, the vaccinated can meet with unvaccinated family members – grandchildren, for example – as long as nobody is in a severe risk category.
However, those who have been vaccinated should continue to wear masks and social distancing in public situations. Less than 1 in 10 Americans have received the vaccine, which means the risk of spreading the virus to the public remains high.
