BORIS Johnson is now fighting solo on the world stage to save this year’s COP26 climate change conference as other countries call for a delay.

Ministers are reluctant to zoom in on the international summit instead, meaning a delay for a second straight year is becoming increasingly likely.

Government sources stressed that they want a personal and “inclusive” event to bring world leaders together to tackle climate change.

But insiders admitted it’s in the air thanks to the increasing cases of Covid around the world.

A diplomatic source told The Sun: “Britain is increasingly isolated on this front.

“Nobody in Europe believes it will happen, and the US is increasingly skeptical that it can happen without delay.”

President Biden is hosting a virtual Earth Day climate summit next week, which could put more pressure to postpone it.

The UK has so far vaccinated more than half of the adult population, but other countries around the world are lagging behind and seeing another wave of the virus.

It came when climate warrior Greta Thunburg said this week she was boycotting the Glasgow event and calling for it to be delayed until global shock rates rose.
