GOP comes powerful on Trump for the recorded risk from the Georgia election official
In the call the Washington Post received, Trump attempted to convict, compliment, beg, and even threaten Raffensperger to deal with unsubstantiated allegations of election fraud. “The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry,” Trump said on the call. “And there is nothing wrong with saying that you recalculated.” Raffensperger responded by telling the president that his data was “incorrect”.
“Look. I just want to do this,” Trump said at one point in the conversation. “I only want to find 11,780 votes, one more than us. Because we won the state.” Trump lost to President-elect Joe Biden 11,779 votesafter a recount from Raffensperger’s office.
Obama described the president’s refusal to accept defeat, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, as “simply incomprehensible” in a Twitter thread on Monday. “It is incomprehensible to focus on overturning an election rather than helping families in trouble or handing out a vaccine, “she said.

So we can’t just vote for the president and think our job is done.

The Chicago attorney encouraged Georgians to vote in the Senate on Tuesday. “Your voice is your voice. It’s your power, ”she tweeted. “And now, starting with the President of the United States, we see and hear how desperate some are to take that power away. They want us to believe that their pride is more important than our democracy. “
Clinton similarly described how much Trump is willing to sacrifice for his ego in a tweet on Monday. “What we are seeing right now is a president who has nothing to lose and only one goal – to distract people from the fact that he has lost,” she said in the tweet. “He doesn’t care that the cost is America’s health, safety and our democracy.”
Senator Bernie Sanders called the president’s words “unprecedented” and added, “that’s what the mafia does.” “It is the most momentous attack on American democracy in our country’s history,” he told MSNBC. Sanders also referred to the part of the call in which Trump threatened if Raffensperger and his General Counsel Ryan Germany Thousands of fraudulently cast votes in Fulton County were found not to be committing “a crime”. “And you can’t let that happen,” said the President. “This is a huge risk for you and for Ryan, your lawyer.” Sanders called it “not only indictable” but “certainly a criminal offense”. “That’s not what democracy is about,” said Sanders. He and several notable Republicans seem to agree on this.

“It’s unprecedented. It’s the most momentous attack on American democracy in our country’s history … This is what the mafia is doing,” Sen. Sanders said of Pres. Trump’s call to the Georgian foreign minister.

George Conway, who is married to former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, called Trump “stupid as a rock, “and said in a tweet on Sunday,” the president, who commits criminal acts on unsafe phone lines, is the real threat to national security here. ”
“It’s shocking, but not surprising,” George Conway told MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “The real question that comes up here and keeps coming up is how delusional he is. Is he that delusional or is that – or is he just desperate, and I think it’s a bit of both. “Republicans Pat Toomey, Senator from Pennsylvania, said in a statement received by CBS News on Monday that Trump’s phone call “marks a new low in this whole futile and sad episode.”
I am sorry, however the President may be, he does not seem to be standing alone. Some GOP lawmakers are constantly striving to question Biden’s electoral college victory, and 10 Senators, Republicans and Democrats are working to combat those efforts. They said in a statement that The Associated Press had received that “the 2020 election is over” and continued attempts to invalidate the election results “are contrary to the expressed will of the American people and only serve to inspire confidence of Americans in the pre-determined election results. “Republicans Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitt Romney of Utah backed the statement. Larry Hogan, governor of Maryland, tweeted,” The American people – not the politicians – elect the president. The move by members of Congress to refuse presidential certification makes fun of our system and who we are as Americans. ” Former House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a statement the AP received that “Biden’s victory is perfectly legitimate” and that efforts to cast doubt on the election results “are laying the foundations of our republic.”

Trump is crazy and thinks, “You stole the election for Brian Kemp. Why can’t you steal it from me? You know how to do it. “
Raffensperger says: “We tried, boss. We counted 4 times. We even falsely purged 200,000 voters. We did everything we could. They organized us.
