On the News Today: At the time of this writing, the Senate had not yet voted on creating an independent investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection – an investigation that Republicans are promising the filibuster, and one that would likely be several of the voting Republican Senators asked to testify. “Non-partisan” infrastructure plans continue to go nowhere. And the Texas electricity grid collapse earlier this year appears to have caused far more deaths than the state government initially claimed.
