The Republicans within the Home haven’t given up on voiding the elections. Neither does the White Home

None of this will manage to overturn the election, mind you. Efforts by House Republicans to challenge election results on the basis of conspiracy theories have no chance of success, a fact that Trump colonists like Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama, who sponsors the program, are still completely lost . Pence’s own role is mostly ceremonial. He can read out who got the most votes and therefore won; If he wanted to take off his clothes, put on a diaper and cause a furious tantrum announcing the up and down and all of the Biden votes are actually Trump votes, he could do so, but it’s not clear if it is Effects that go beyond ejection from the building would be substantial.

With the possible exception of Brooks and a few other Bonafide fools, everyone involved understands that objecting to electoral college totals would serve the spectacle rather than the results. It would be another propaganda aimed at publicly discrediting the new non-republican leader, a stepping stone and a commitment to forthcoming declarations that the new government is not only their ideological enemy but illegitimate as well. The Republicans of the House intend this to promote the big joke – the proclamation that the votes themselves are ineligible because the Republican did not win.

It is the hallmark of many collapsing democracies. At some point the authoritarian faction will declare that elections are too corrupt to truly reflect the will of the nation, and so the faction leaders themselves will interpret the will of the nation. Those who object will be punished.

In this particular instance, however, (most) House Republicans do not sincerely intend to win. But they wouldn’t feel upset either if their actions continued to provoke the kind of far-right violence in Washington, DC this weekend – the very public suggestion that non-Republican rule simply can no longer be tolerated by the unwashed masses and that their non-Republican opponents should start thinking about their own safety if they are to continue to thwart Republican demands. That’s the goal behind almost all of this nonsense: to delegitimize; to bring out the stochastic idea that if the grassroots setback in their ambitions, it can only be because the grassroots were conspired against them. It was conspired by the city dwellers, the globalists and the socialists.

Back to the hook – this is interesting now. We are asked whether Mike Pence, a man who diligently humiliated himself at every turn, who got every lie demanded of him under control, who steadily moved from diligent silence to thunderous defense, as Trump from insanity to incompetence moved to corruption, who allied with white nationalism and with any sponsored cruelty, a maudlin-performative Christian who has spearheaded Trump’s own efforts to convince white conservative believers that there is something that is tax evasion, banking fraud and the Rape is similar – we’re asked to ponder whether Trump’s leather sockliner Mike Pence would screw his ass here for an utterly failed effort to delegitimize Trump’s enemy and make the boom-boom man a little less pissed off for a few more hours than he would otherwise be.

Is there a chance Mike Pence wouldn’t have?
