According to a new report from ABC News, Gaetz’s ex-BFF, Joel Greenberg, sings like a sack of horny canaries, and it could be seriously bad news for our infamous Florida man:
Former Seminole County’s tax collector Joel Greenberg has provided investigators with years of Venmo and Cash app transactions and thousands of photos and videos, as well as access to personal social media accounts, as part of his ongoing work with the prosecutor.
Well, that can be anything. Funny cat photos. Refunds for SeaWorld Segway tours. Surreptitious payments in exchange for sex with young women. There are tons of options. Why jump to conclusions?
ABC News checked Google Voice text messages from September 2018, which appear to show Greenberg texting a woman he met online. In the texts, Greenberg appears to be discussing payment options and asks the adult woman if she would use drugs; Then he sets up a meeting with himself, Gaetz, the wife and one of her friends.
D’oh!
According to ABC News, one of the texts Greenberg sent the woman said, “I have a friend who is flying in and we’re trying to make plans for tonight. What are your plans for later. And how much subsidy will you need 🙂 “

The woman responded by telling Greenberg that she had “a friend who introduced me to the website that I could bring” and said she “usually” charges “$ 400 per meeting”.
Okay, this looks like a quid-pro-quo. Oopsie.
Of course, Gaetz is not only in the heat because of the (alleged) advertising for prostitution. He’s also in trouble for trafficking underage girls (again, allegedly). Greenberg has already pleaded guilty to sex trafficking in a minor and admitted to “introducing her to other ‘adult men’ who also had sex with her when she was a minor”.
This is not good. For each. But it is a particularly tense situation for Gaetz. All you have to do is read the tea leaves. Or Twitter.
