Cuomo resigns; Senate passes infrastructure regulation; Texas in pandemic disaster

On the News Today: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation rather than fighting a likely impeachment vote by state lawmakers. Finally, finally, the Senate passed its $ 1 trillion version of a “bipartisan” infrastructure bill; it is now facing rocky prospects in the House of Representatives, where the Democrats intend to adopt a far more ambitious climate and modernization-oriented version. Texas Governor Greg Abbott is still aggressively blocking pandemic safety mandates in his state and is now seeking help from health workers outside of the state to keep Texas hospital systems from collapsing during the resulting spate of cases.
