Pentagon, Disney Revive Masks mandates after CDC change
July 29, 2021 – It has been 2 days since the CDC went back and said that people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus should wear masks again indoors, and companies and government agencies are already following suit.
On July 27, the agency called for masks in K-12 school settings and in areas of the US where there is “significant and high” COVID-19 transmission, even for those who are fully vaccinated.
The new policy is a major shift from the CDC’s announcement in May that fully vaccinated Americans could skip wearing a mask in most situations.
In response to the new guidelines, the Department of Defense now requires everyone in their facilities to wear a mask, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The announcement applies to all service members, federal staff, contractors and visitors who are indoors on all Departmental properties in these areas, according to updated CDC guidelines, according to a statement from Pentagon Assistant Secretary Jamal Brown.
Disney parks require visitors to mask themselves
Disneyland and Walt Disney World will reintroduce mask requirements for interiors from Friday.
All visitors aged 2 and over must wear masks regardless of their vaccination status.
Guests must wear masks “indoors and on Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliners regardless of vaccination status,” the company’s website says. “This applies when entering and during all attractions. Face covers remain optional for all guests in the outdoor communal areas. “
The Anaheim, CA and Orlando, FL-based parks are both in high-speed areas.
Costume masks are not considered appropriate protection, the website says.
Pastor threatens to turn away masked parishioners
Tennessee pastor Greg Locke, who has a large online following, called the highly infected Delta variant “nonsense” during a Sunday sermon and said that people who wear masks are from the Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, TN, would be rejected.
Locke, who previously called the pandemic “fake”, said, “They will serve Frostys in Hell before we close this place.” A Frosty is a dessert sold in Wendy’s fast food restaurants.
He continued, “You are talking about closing this nation for the second round. They talk about masking everyone again, about closing churches. My back leg if they think they’re going to close this church, ”said Locke. “Knock on my door, ask me if I have a vaccine? My hind leg.
